South East England Biodiversity Forum
GOSE, SEEDA and SEERA
For GOSE, SEEDA and SEERA regional sign up will mean:
- Being an active member of SEEBF
- Contributing to the delivery of the Regional Biodiversity Strategy
- Agreeing, with partners, the UK BAP habitat for the region
-
Ensure that, the objectives and targets of the
Regional Biodiversity Strategy and its delivery
framework are integrated wherever feasible
into their srategic documents, policies and
plans
- Support local and regional delivery bodies
(such as Local Authorities) in contributing
to the delivery of the Regional Biodiversity
Strategy and integrate the strategy into
relevant documents and plans
Please note:
- The identification of the priority opportunity areas and themes for action will be undertaken locally and these priorities will be a subset of the opportunity areas in a county
- Any lead role for an area does NOT mean taking responsibility for delivery of BAP targets. Rather it is taking the responsibility for putting in place the partnership working that aims to result in the delivery of the BAP targets. LBAP partnerships will identify and agree maintenance, restoration and creation targets for habitats and promote delivery against these targets within BOAs.
- Not all habitats, species or areas of LBAP work will be best delivered through the opportunity areas. The local LBAP partnership will identify where this is not possible or suitable and put in place more suitable mechanisms.
